Adele Colicchio, nee Canzanese, died on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Seasons Hospice surrounded by her loving family.  Adele was born on January 10, 1929, in Chester, Pennsylvania, to the late Nicola and Filomena Canzanese.

Adele was a loving, caring, and feisty woman who loved her family more than life.  She was the center of family gatherings with her immediate and extended relatives.  Her funny and unabashedly honest personality engendered love and admiration from all those around her.  She enjoyed shopping, card playing, and spending time at the beach with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Adele was predeceased by her brothers, Vincent, Armand, and Nicholas Canzanese; and her sisters, Mary Canzanese, Carmella Bizzarro, and Olga Fusco.  She is survived by her son, Francis; her daughters and their spouses, Mary Ann and Anthony Sianni, Diane and Robert Cox, and Joanne and Jorge Muniz.  In addition, she will be sadly missed by her loving grandchildren, Robert and Karyn Cox, Alex and Gretchen Sianni, Kate and Michael Eberly, Jennifer Muniz, James Muniz and his fiancée, Kian Young.  She also leaves four sweet great grandchildren, Aaron, Suzanne, Anthony and Luke.  Adele also will be missed by her many nieces and nephews who were devoted to her.

A visitation will be held from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 pm at the St. Thomas More Oratory, 45 Lovett Avenue, Newark, DE 19711.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Thomas More Oratory, at the address listed above.

Mary Ann, Joanne, Diane, and Franny, your mother was a wonderful woman to know when growing up. I cherish the memories of the pinochle games we played together. And I still chuckle recalling her telling Joanne and me about the Tom Jones concert she went to with Mary Ann. I am sure she will be sadly missed.
