Agnes C. Allen, age 82, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully at home, while surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, November 9, 2016.
Born in Christiansburg, VA on June 10, 1934, Aggie was the daughter of the late Howard and Stella Mae (Reed) Wiley. She made her career with the Avon Company, where she held a number of positions prior to her retirement in 1992, after 34 years of dedicated employment.
Aggie enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening and visiting the casino. In her leisure time, she loved hitting the greens for a round of golf. Above all else, Aggie adored spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary, Dorothy, Lillian and James. Aggie is survived by her loving husband, Charles R. Allen; daughter, Sharon S. Furrow and husband, Francis X. Young Jr. of Newark; and grandson, Y. Zackery Furrow and friend, Anna L. Lupton of Newark.
A committal service will be held at 10 am on Thursday morning, November 17, 2016 in the chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
