Albert L. Weismiller, Jr., age 66, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully at home, while surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 31, 2016.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 21, 1949, Albert was the son of the late Albert L. Weismiller, Sr. and Sara (Osmanski) Weismiller. He was a member of the William Penn High School’s graduating class of 1967. Albert dedicated 32 years of employment to the Chrysler Corporation where he worked as an assembler, security guard and fire marshall until his retirement in 1999.

He was a longtime member of the UAW Local Union No. 1183 in Newark and New Castle Moose Lodge No. 1578. An avid outdoorsman, Albert enjoyed surf fishing and hunting. He looked forward to his yearly trips to the Florida Keys and a good game of horseshoes with family and friends. A devoted husband, loving father, beloved brother and adoring grandfather, Albert will be very dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy. Albert is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Patricia A. (Stewart) Weismiller; children, Brenda W. Antonio (John, Jr.) and Annette W. Day (Joe), both of New Castle, DE and Albert L. Weismiller III (Kim) of Townsend, DE; sisters, Marlane Radzius of Middletown, DE and Donna Brooks of Lewes, DE; and grandchildren, Maddie, Amy, John III, Rachel, Addison, Albert IV and Aidan.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm on Thursday evening, August 4, 2016 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 am on Friday morning, August 5, 2016, at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Albert’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Read’s Way, Ste. 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
