Alfred J. Hall, III “Al”

Born April 10, 1952

Alfred J. Hall, III, known fondly as Al, age 61, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1, 2013, while surrounded by his family.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware on April 10, 1952, Al was a son of the late Alfred J. Hall Jr. and Irene Subchencko Hall. He proudly and honorably served his country in the US Army.
Al enjoyed visiting the Delaware beaches and surf fishing. He was an avid steam train enthusiast and drag racing fan. Al loved being with his family, whom he adored. He was an exceptional husband, father, and grandfather, who will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by a brother, Alex Hall and a grandchild who awaits him in heaven. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Nancy M. Hall; sons, Alfred J. Hall, IV and wife Jill and Alexis J. Hall and wife Cyndi; and daughter, Nadja M. Greso and husband James; brother, Ehon Hall and wife Susan; and 5 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where friends may call from 10:30 am until 11:30 am. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Read’s Way, Ste. 205, New Castle, DE 19720 or to Vitas Hospice, c/o Vitas Health Care Corporation, 100 Commerce Drive, Ste. 302 Newark, DE 19713.

  • To the family and friends of Mr. Hall. We don’t know each other personally, but I wanted to let you know that I am deeply sorry for your lost. It is a tragedy to lose a loved one in death. I know that he will be deeply missed. However, I would like to share something with you that might offer some comfort. The Bible mentions that not only will God help you through this situation, but it also helps us to appreciate that we will have the opportunity to see our lost loved ones again. Read Psalms 34:18 and also John 5:28,29.

    I hope these scriptures can provide a sense of comfort for you and your family. All of you in my prayers…
