Alfred Louis Saindon III
Mr. Alfred Louis Saindon III, known fondly as Fred, age 60, of Newark, DE, died on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at St. Francis Hospital.
Mr. Saindon was a native Delawarean, born in Wilmington on April 10, 1950. A longtime member of the UAW, he was a retired auto worker.
He had many interests throughout his life, including vegetable gardening, golf, trips to the beach, reading and watching classic westerns, riding motorcycles, and cheering for favorite teams, the Philadelphia Phillies and the Dallas Cowboys. A devoted family man, he delighted most of all in spending time with his beloved wife and children. He also enjoyed caring for his adopted stray cat.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Debra L. Saindon; his mother, Sabra R. Carll Saindon of Newark; children, Nikole Wilson of England, Alfred Louis Saindon IV and his wife, Jennifer, of Wilmington, and Christopher Saindon of Newark; sister, Jayne Emery of Hockessin; and grandchildren, Zack, Jeff, Elliott and another due in June. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, Jaychele Charles and Cheramy Brown. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Louis Saindon, Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Tuesday, February 22nd , at Holy Angels R.C. Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.
