Alice Margaret Johnson, age 66, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware on April 3, 1948, Alice was a daughter of the late Clyde Smallwood and Matilda Hoffman Smallwood. She was an exceptional homemaker and devoted her life to caring for and raising her children and grandchilren.

In her earlier years, Alice loved traveling to different venues where she would listen to her husband play guitar and DJ. She adored the beach and enjoyed attending bingo. Alice’s most favorite pastime was visiting Delaware Park. She was happiest in the company of her beloved family and will be dearly remembered as a loving and giving individual.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her godson, Robert Swan. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Arnold R. Johnson; children, Alan Earnshaw, Barbara Christopher (Steven), Tammy Eidelsburger, Dawn Stroup, Earl Cliburn and Brandon Johnson; brothers, Dewey Smallwood (Bernadette) and Earl Smallwood; sisters, Clara Jones and Barbara Swan (Theodore); 6 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 Noon. Interment will be private.
