Allan J. Richmond, Jr., age 55, of Middletown, DE, died at home on Thursday, December 4, 2014.

Born in Chester, PA on December 12, 1958, Al was a son of Allan J. Richmond Sr. and Shirley Marwine Richmond. He made his career as a field service specialist.

Al was known to live life to the fullest and was always the life of the party. His greatest joy was being out on the water in his boat, traveling with his wife, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Al is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Nicci; son, Brian Richmond (Megan); brothers, Mike (Lynn) and Robbie; brother-in-law, Gery Piluso (Lesa); grandchildren, Colin and Torrie; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companions, Molly & Rocky.

Al touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life at 12 Noon on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where a visitation will be held from 11 am until 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Al’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, 200 Continental Drive, Ste. 101, Newark, DE 19713.

  • Gone too soon! I remember working side by side with Al way back when at Westvaco. Either he and Nicci were expecting Brian or he was just a little baby. I admired Al so much for being so serious and responsible about being able to provide for his family at such a young age. Al will always be remembered for being a great guy and a great human being! Rest in peace my friend!

    I am sorry to hear of your loss. Al supported my company with packaging needs and I was fortunate to travel with him over the years. A great guy and he will be missed both personally and as a professional. Al was always fun to travel with and we enjoyed some good Braves – Phillies bantering.
