Allen L. Wilkinson

April 11, 1949 - January 4, 2018

Allen L. Wilkinson, age 68, of New Castle, Delaware, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Northfield, NJ on April 11, 1949, he was a son of the late William and Virginia E. (Hartman) Wilkinson, Sr.  Allen made his career as a photo product sales representative for DuPont, where he later retired after 25 years.

He enjoyed photography, history, and his hobbies included researching geneology and cooking.  Allen never missed a chance to cheer on his beloved Phillies.  Above all, he was a beloved father, brother and grandfather.

Allen is survived by his wife, Donna (Weslowski) Wilkinson; daughters, Cynthia D. Vadden (Thomas), Sandra L. Calderhead (William), Beverly A. Wilkinson and Kimberly J. Cerminara (Ryan); brothers, William Wilkinson, Jr. (Linda) and James Wilkinson; sister, Cheryle Flanigan (James); grandchildren, Katherine, Thomas and Michael Vadden, Cristina and Kyrie Calderhead and Lucas Cerminara; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 10 am until 11 am at Asbury United Methodist Church, 300 West Basin Rd., New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

  • Although we only met you on a few family occasions being close friends and neighbors of your sister Cheryle and Jimmy Flanigan, we saw the love your family felt for you and know you will be missed by all as you travel the heavens to another chapter in your spiritual journey. God guide him and also all the family who will someday join him when it is their time. Rest In Peace Allen .
