Born December 29, 1932

Anna Helen (Torba) Worton, age 84, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Monday, February 27, 2017.

Born in Nanticoke, PA on December 29, 1932, Anna was the daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine Anna (Seroka) Torba. In addition to raising her family, she worked as a claims manager for Sears until her retirement.

Strong in her faith, Anna was a longtime parishioner of St. Margaret of Scotland R.C. Church in Newark. She was actively involved in her community and gave of her time as a volunteer with the Hope Dining Room for 16 years. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Anna will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Regina Ann LoMonaco. Anna is survived by her husband of 62 years, Joseph G. Worton; children, Daniel Worton (Doreen) of Bear, Joanne Yankovoy (Michael) of Wescosville, PA, John Worton of Bear, Stephen Worton (Jennifer) of Fallson, MD and Joseph Worton, Jr. (Susan) of Bear; 10 grandchildren; and 1 great grandson.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday morning, March 2, 2017 at the St. Margaret of Scotland R.C. Church, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark, DE 19702, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am. Interment will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday afternoon, March 7, 2017 in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Margaret of Scotland R.C. Church Building Fund at the address listed above.
