Mr. Anthony Janaman, age 88, of Wilmington, DE, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at his home.
Born in Port Penn on May 22, 1922, Mr. Janaman was the son of the late Antonio Janaman and Concetta Capriott Janaman. He proudly served his country with the famed Fighting SeaBees of the US Navy during World War II. In civilian life, he was a longtime member of the UAW and made his career with the Chrysler Corporation in Newark, where he retired in 1977 after 25 years of service.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Elsie Jane Megginson Janaman; stepdaughter, Christina Wockenfuss and husband, William, of Wilmington; stepson, Ronald Roberts, Jr. of Newport; 5 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandsons.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, November 22, 2010, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
