  • Barb was like a mom to all.of us from college! She was always welcoming and fun! I am sorry for Len aka (Mr. Brooks) and know that Kristin and Lenny are devastated on the loss of their mom! Big hugs to the whole family and extended family.

  • Barbara was as kind and funny as she was spunky and feisty (because her career required it of her). She gave students direction as deliberately as she gave them medical assistance. I am sure it is a great loss to the family and I offer my condolences.

  • So sorry for your loss Big Lenny, Little Lenny and Kristin. Cousin Barbara, you will be missed.

  • So sorry to hear this news…I’ve known Barbara since PrimeHook Beach growing up….Elizabeth Wilkerson and Bertha Lee were my aunts and I visited them often. I grew up at Goshen Church with Lenny and his brothers. Barbara and I connected again at school nurse conferences…she was a pleasure to be with and always had something up her sleeve…we had many laughs together. My deepest condolences to the Brooks and Johnson families.

  • My sympathies to the entire Johnson clan. To Big Lenny, Little Lenny, and Kirsten and your families my prayers are with you.

  • Barb,
What a special lady you were. From the moment I came to Howard, I knew you would be there for me, for the staff and for every student! You took everything in stride, you had heard every story and knew how to deal with whatever crisis came up. Your smile and laughter made every day a good one.
You were always ready to do whatever was needed both in your job as school nurse but more important, as a super supporter of our school. You touched so many lives over the years, both in school and in the community. I will miss you.
    Love, Joyce

  • B.J was a special person. I met her in High School(William Penn). We both were accepted to The Memorial School of Nursing in 1961. Our nursing career had begun. All of us in school looked out for each other like we were family. It was a wonderful experience to always know they had your back. I was happy we were there. It is sad we never kept in touch after graduation. I want to think she was a wonderful nurse. All my prayers go out to her family. Your Mother will be remembered by her friends. With Love in Christ, Shielda.

  • So sorry to hear of BJ’s passing. She was a wonderful friend to my mother and father, and to our family for many years. Our hearts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. The Shores family.

  • Mrs. Brooks was a great nursing teacher. I had the honor of her teaching me at Hodgson Vo-Tech nursing. She was so nice, kind and caring. We couldn’t of asked for two great teachers Ms. Shores and her. I am so sorry for your loss. Heaven gained another angel. Rest in Peace.
