Bettie R. Ory, age 92, of Chestertown, MD, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2018.
Born in Baltimore, MD on January 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Ruth (Love) Edwards. Bettie dedicated her career as an operator for the former C & P Telephone Company in Chestertown, MD and retired after several dedicated years.
In addition to her mother, Bettie was preceded in death by her brother, William Smith; daughter, Carolyn A. Blanchfield; and granddaughter, Jennifer Blanchfield. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie L. Swift (John) of Hockessin, DE; grandchildren, Hilary Swift of Newark, DE, Courtney Swift of Pike Creek, DE and Ethan Swift of Newark, DE; and 7 great grandchildren.
Services and interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

I’m so sorry for your loss! I remember Ms Bettie as a warm and caring lady who always treated everyone kindly and was always glad to welcome you into her home.
