Betty F. Robinson
Mrs. Betty F. Robinson, age 84, of Smyrna, DE, formerly of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 6, 2010, surrounded by her loving family and best friend.
Mrs. Robinson was a native Delawarean, born in Wilmington on March 26, 1926, daughter of the late Mason Bogart and Laura Richardson. A talented homemaker throughout her life, she was also an active member of many community organizations, including the Women of the Moose Lodge #1418, the VFW, the New Castle Rod & Gun Club, St. Gabes Club, and the Terrace Athletic Club.
In her younger years, she enjoyed dancing, hosting cookouts and parties, and many good times with her friends at the Moose Lodge. She cherished the many cruises taken with her husband and her favorite trip to Hawaii. For the past few years, Michaels Restaurant was her happy place. She enjoyed many meals there and was ready to go at any time.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis C. Robinson, and three children, Joyce Taylor, James L. Best, and Wilbur R. Best, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Schrader and husband, Blaine, of Smyrna, DE, and Linda Shoemaker and husband, Ken, of Tate, GA; daughter-in-law, Carol Best of Pike Creek, DE; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and best friend, Mae.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
