Carole A. (Kisko) Charowsky, age 69, of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2010, with her loving family by her side.


Born in Minersville, PA, on September 22, 1941, Carole was the daughter of the late Anthony Kisko and Julia (Carroll) Kisko Santai. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, where she sang solo at masses as a child. She attended the St. Stanislaus Catholic Elementary School in Minersville and the Nativity BVM High School in Pottsville.


Carole worked in the restaurant business as an assistant manager and retired in 1977. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker who especially enjoyed being a loving Mom-Mom to her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leon Kisko, of Maine, and her baby grandson, Walter Alexander Charowsky, of Townsend, DE. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 50 years, Walter V. Charowsky; her two children, Walter Anthony Charowsky and his wife, Alexandria, of Townsend, DE, and Annette Julia Gore and her husband, Thomas, of Newark, DE; her five grandchildren, Axl and Aric Charowsky of Townsend, DE, and Julie, Katelyn, and Tanner Gore of Newark, DE; sister, Theresa Kilrain of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Carl Kisko and his wife, Ruth, of Auburn, PA; and many nieces, nephews, and friends–both old and new.


Carole wanted to thank the staff of St. Francis Home Care, especially Candice, Eva, Peter, and Michelle. The family extends their thanks to the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice, especially Robin Day and Jenny West, for all their kindness and support throughout Caroles illness. A special thank you also to Lois Parsons.


Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Holy Family R.C. Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark, DE. Entombment will be in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 702 B Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805; or to Caroles favorite charity, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
