Caroline T. Morris

Born: 10/18/1933
Died: 12/4/2012

Mrs. Caroline T. Morris, age 79, of Kirkwood, DE, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Christiana Hospital.
Born in Quantico, MD, on October 18, 1933, Mrs. Morris was the daughter of the late George Trader and Carrie Ward Trader. She attended both Goldey-Beacom College and the University of Delaware and began her professional career as a library clerk with the DuPont Company. In 1964, drawing on her extensive knowledge of and passion for antiques, she established Country Corner Antiques in Kirkwood, a well-respected retail shop that she continued to operate for almost 50 years.
A devout Christian throughout her life, Mrs. Morris had been an active and faithful member of Praise Assembly in Newark for several decades. She was greatly admired for her wonderful sense of humor, as well as the compassionate, gentle manner with which she touched and blessed the lives of everyone she met. Possessed of a kind heart that called her to cherish all of God’s creatures, she truly loved cats and cared for many hundreds of these neglected and abandoned animals during her lifetime.
Mrs. Morris was a gifted artist and particularly enjoyed sketching. She also enjoyed attending class reunions, visiting with her many church friends, and, most especially, spending time with her beloved family, particularly her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she adored. She will be sadly and deeply missed by the many people who loved her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, T. Daniel Morris, whom she married in 1955; her son, Theodore Daniel Morris, Jr. (Sandra) of Bear; her daughter, Gail L. Yunger of Kirkwood; nephew (but more like a brother), Robert F. Trader, Jr. (Sandy) of Texas; grandchildren, Jason, Katrina, Danny (Nancy), Matthew, and Jacob; great grandchildren, Natayla, Allie, and J.J; and niece, Christine Shifflett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Robert F. Trader and Richard W. Trader, son-in-law, Paul Bristow, and grandson, Jared Paul Shifflett.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 7, 2012, at Praise Assembly, 1421 Old Baltimore Pike, Newark, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Georges Cemetery on Kirkwood-St. Georges Road.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Praise Assembly, P.O. Box 9025, Newark, DE 19714; or to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), 455 Stanton-Christiana Road, Newark, DE 19713.
