Charles E. Gorsuch, Sr. - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

Charles E. Gorsuch, Sr.

Born September 25, 1930

Charles E. (Chuck) Gorsuch, Sr., age 84, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2015.

Born in Henderson, NC on September 25, 1930, Chuck was a son of the late William R. Gorsuch and Jennie (Davis) Gorsuch. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Chuck made his career with AT&T where he worked as an engineering manager, retiring after many years of dedicated service.

Those who knew him best, understood Chuck’s passion for the game of golf and shared in his elation when he shot a hole in one. He looked forward to spending the winter and spring seasons in Hobe Sound, FL just as much as he enjoyed the summer and fall months in Wilmington. Chuck loved spending time tinkering in his garage and workshop and was quick to lend a helping hand with most any type of home improvement project. Occasionally, he could be found resting his eyes while relaxing in his favorite chair. Chuck was the best father, grand-dad and great grand-dad ever and adored his family. His favorite times though, were spent with his wife, Joan, whom he affectionately called Mom.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan F. Gorsuch; brothers, William, George and Robert Gorsuch; and a sister, Sarah Kimmelman. He is survived by his children, Chuck Gorsuch, Jr. (wife Jeanna) of Jensen Beach, FL and Debbie Hinderhofer (husband Donald) of West Grove, PA; sister, Peg South of Austin, TX; 5 grandchildren; Heather Dargie, Devon Sundberg , Shannon Palmer, Zakary May and Halli Gorsuch and 3 great grandchildren, Harper Palmer, Charlotte Dargie and Jackson Dargie.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, morning, August 28, 2015 in the Chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Chuck’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or by visiting www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
