Charles H. Fols III, known fondly as Charlie, age 67, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.

A lifelong Delawarean, Charlie was born in Wilmington on June 13, 1948, and was a son of the late Charles H. Fols, Jr. and Margaret (Sutherland) Fols. He was a proud member of the graduating class of 1966 from De La Warr High School. After serving a four year apprenticeship, Charlie began a 40 year career as an electrician with IBEW Local No. 313 in New Castle. He served on numerous committees and as an apprentice instructor over the years, retiring in 2004.

Active in his community, Charlie was a member of the St. John’s Lodge No. 2, A.F. & A.M of New Castle. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. A devoted and loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, Charlie was happiest in the company of his beloved family, especially his two wonderful grandchildren whom he adored.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Carol Ann (Kostik) Fols; son, Charles A. Fols of Middletown; brother, Robert Fols (Deborah) of Bear; and grandchildren, Lukas and Kristin Fols.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 pm until 7 pm on Tuesday evening, December 1, 2015 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a masonic service will be held at 6:50 pm followed by a memorial service at 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Charlie’s memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Delaware Chapter, 100 W. 10th Street, Ste. 209, Wilmington, DE 19801.
