Charles M. Yetter, age 85, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 28, 2017.

Born in Middleburg, PA, on January 13, 1932, Charles was the son of the late Clarence and Edith (Chubb) Yetter. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. A skilled diesel mechanic, Charles made his career with A-Del Construction for many years and was well-respected for his attention to detail and hardworking personality.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and was an avid clock collector. Charles was happiest in the company of his beloved family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be greatly missed by all.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence, Arley, Norman, William, Paul, and Elmer; sisters, Margaret, Beatrice, and Edith; and granddaughter, Jessica. Charles is survived by his wife, Martha Marie (Strawser) Yetter; children, Martha M. Yetter of Wilmington, Karen J. Little of New Castle, Donna Yetter-McCracken of Pennsylvania, James M. Yetter of New Castle, Russell A. Yetter (Kim) of Bear, and Travis M. Yetter (Kathy) of Middletown; brothers, Homer Yetter and Luther Yetter, both of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Tabitha (Bryon), Casey (Sami), Dustin (Kelly), Dawn (Serafin), Keith (Kelly), Russell (Jill), Aaron, Luke (Mary), Alex (Christine), Eric (Katie), Nathan, Travis Jr., and Katie; great grandchildren, Connor, Grace, Taylor, Jose, Mohammed, Ayyoub, Tyler, Kevin, Kaitlyn, Javier, Faye, Tripp, and Colten.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday morning, August 2, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

  • I’m so sorry for the loss of your father…… I remember when I moved next door in 2007 and mr yetter was the 1st to greet me. I instantly loved him! His heart would glow very vividly… I’m not sure how many times he bought Zeus (my dog) back into the back yard for me. Mr yetter knew I was dealing with an escape artist! Hahaha.
