Charles T. Rineer
On Sunday, February 13, 2011, Mr. Charles T. Charlie Rineer (known fondly as the Great American hunter and fisherman and legend in his own mind) passed away peacefully with his wife and beloved four-legged friends at his side.
A native Delawarean, Charlie was born in Wilmington on November 16, 1951, son of the late Grover and Catherine Rineer. He made his career in the construction industry, but his great passion was being an outdoorsman. Anyone who knew Charlie could vouch for his sometimes exciting, sometimes humorous, but always interesting escapades in hunting and fishing, which he dearly missed over the past few years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Sharyn L. Mitchell Rineer; daughter, Amy Colatriano and husband, Larry; grandsons, Larry and Zachary; brother, Bill Rineer and wife, Shirley; sister, Catherine Taylor; nephews, Billy and Keith; and nieces, Lauren, Laura, and Kristi. He will also be greatly missed by his four-legged children who brought him so much pleasure. Charlie, we will meet you again on the other side.
A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Thursday, February 17th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Charlie may be made to Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804 (302-427-8514 / faithfulfriends.us).
