Charles Thomas Doemling

Charles Thomas Doemling, age 64, of Middletown, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2014, while surrounded by his family.

Tom was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 10, 1949. He proudly served his country for 2 years in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Tom worked for many years in the construction industry, but spent most of his career self-employed working in various professions.

He was an exceptionally hard-working individual who took great pride in being an excellent provider for his family. An avid music lover, Tom adored playing guitar and in his leisure time, enjoyed taking long rides on his motorcycle. Above all else, he was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Mary B. Icenrode, father, Earl Klingler and his step daughter, Vicki Turner. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Sarah M. Bryson Doemling; daughters, Lisa Moore and Lori Doemling; his granddaughter, Angelina Doemling, who always called him dad; brothers, Earl Klingler, Kenneth Klingler, Joseph Klingler, Hayden Klingler and Louis Klingler; sisters, Robin Walls and Maryanne Burke; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm on Monday afternoon, March 10, 2014, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where friends may call from 11 am until 12:30 pm. Interment will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tom’s name may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 702 B Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805.
