CHRISTOPHER PAUL “PAULIE” WEYANT

Born August 24, 1974

Christopher Paul Paulie Weyant, age 39, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and many friends, on January 8, 2014 at Season’s Hospice IPU at Christiana Hospital in Newark.

Paulie was born in Wilmington, DE the son of Paul W. Weyant and the late Sharon Ann (Jamison) Weyant, on August 24, 1974.

While in treatment for cancer at the age of 17, Paulie attended First State School which enabled him to then return to William Penn High School where he was able to graduate with his fellow classmates in 1993. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest, taking nothing for granted. His infectious smile touched the lives of many and he never met a stranger. Paulie was an avid Redskins fan. His love for football began at an early age where he played for St. Mary Magdalene Redskins. Later he played for the New Castle Bulldogs as a quarterback, and was instrumental in leading them to the championship. His love of sports transitioned into adulthood where he coached several sports for his daughter at Our Lady of Fatima. He was also very intrigued by the paranormal. Most importantly, above all else, he loved his family and his dogs.

Paulie was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Ann Weyant who died in 2003. He is survived by his father, Paul W. Weyant; fiancée, Laura Davis and their daughter Casey; brothers, Wayne P. Fonz Weyant (Mirinda) and Mickeal J. Weyant (Sharlee); sisters, Michelle M. Davis (Larry) and Cortney Weyant-Watson (Matt); nieces and nephews, Doozer, Wayne-O Jr., Rachel, Chandler, Nickolas, Mikaela, Aaron, Aden, Christian and Greanlee; his faithful furry children, Biscuit and Ginger; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

A funeral service will be held at 6pm on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where friends may visit from 4 pm until 6pm. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
