Cindy Lee Eckrote, age 56, of Delaware City, DE, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware, on November 11, 1956, Cindy was the daughter of the late Ernest Rash and Ernestine Cloud Rash. She was a talented and dedicated homemaker, who dedicated her life to caring for her family. Cindy’s greatest joy in life was being with her husband and children. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching her favorite television shows.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Edwin L. Eckrote; children, Thomas E. Alexander of Delaware City, Jennifer C. Frey of the Cayman Islands, Greg R. Alexander (Cheryl) of Middletown and Stephen M. Eckrote of Stillwater, OK; sisters, Ernee Hakes and Dawn Rash, both of Wilmington; and 4 grandchildren, Braedan, Alexis, Olivia, and Sophia.
Friends may call 11 am until 1 pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 214 Clinton Street, Delaware City. A committal service will be follow at 2 pm at The Chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

  • Ernee….not sure if you remember me or not. I went to high school with your sister Cindy. I was on this site yesterday and came across Cindy…I had no idea she had passed. I am SO very sorry for your loss. Sister have a bond that can never be broken. I pray she didn’t suffer. Though we haven’t seen each other in years, she and I had the best time in her teens, thanks to one another., and I will always remember her, and the great times we’ve shared. I know she’ll be missed…my deepest sympathy.
