Clare M. Dennis

Clare M. Dennis, age 66, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 19, 2015.
Born in Ada, MN on October 4, 1949, Clare was a daughter of the late Howard Durwin and Margaret Elizabeth (Wilkens) Van Mill. She made her career with Polymer Technologies in Newark where she worked as an assembler, retiring after 15 years of dedicated service.
Clare was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Newark. In her leisure time, she enjoyed quilting. Clare was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be very dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert L. Dennis; daughter, Michelle; and several siblings. Clare is survived by her children, Janice M. Gresham (Toby) of Hemphill, TX, Donald F. Ford of Sacramento, CA and Margaret L. Herscher of Newark, DE; brothers, Dean, Mike and Bobby Van Mill all of Minnesota; sister, Betty Day of Texas; and grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Madison Ford and Victor and Ariel Herscher.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday morning, November 30, 2015, at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 701 S. College Avenue, Newark, DE, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am. A committal service will be held at 10 am on Friday morning, December 4, 2015 in the chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE where interment will follow.
