Clarence G. “Shorty” Yoder

Clarence G. Yoder, age 92, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 3, 2014 with his loving family by his side.

Born on January 7, 1922 in Windber, PA, he was the son of the late James E. Yoder and Dorothy Weyant Yoder.

Shorty proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII with the 83

But in our faith we know he is with our beloved Lord and has gazed upon face of God. What an amazing and beautiful blessing he has received.   • I am very sorry for the families loss of a great man. We only knew him for a short time but he made a big impact. We will miss his happy huge smile as he walked up and down the street . we will also miss him feeding and watching the birds everyday. God is very lucky to have such an angel with him.

  • My deepest sympathy to all the Yoder family. As a asst football coach at Newark High School for over 30 years, I enjoyed being around Shorty. He was extremely personable and his interest in NHS football was second to none. Also, it was nice to have someone on the sideline older than I was. He definitely will be missed.

  • Uncle Shorty was like no other. Very fond memories, full of passion and a laugh that you’ll never forget. He was a one-of-a-kind…and deeply missed by all.

    I was so sorry to not have been with you for the funeral today, as I had a doctor’s appointment. I enjoyed Shorty’s daily visits to the bike shop and our time sharing coffee and a sandwich together at the Post House. He was a wonderful friend and I will miss him dearly.
