Connie S. Murphy, age 55, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Monday, June 29, 2015.

Born in Wilmington, DE on March 8, 1960, Connie was a daughter of Garland W. Taylor and Eleanor (Havens) Taylor. She worked as an executive housekeeper for Quality Inn for a number of years.

Connie was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, who adored spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William K. Murphy, Sr. Connie is survived by her parents, Garland and Eleanor Taylor of Bear; children, Kimberly A. Murphy, William K. Murphy, Jr. and Lindsey M. Murphy (Nick Toller) all of Newark; brother, Michael L. Taylor (Drema) of New Castle; sisters, Sheila K. Summerfield (Kevin, Sr.) of New Castle, Cynthia L. Jones of Bear, Donna M. Shahan of Newark and Cheryl R. Taylor of Clayton; 4 grandchildren, Joey, Tristan, Keithy III and Madasyn.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Monday afternoon, July 6, 2015, in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.

  • There are no words for your loss I feel it too although not in the same way. Connie and I share grandchildren that we loved/love to the depths of our being. There will be a void that cannot be filled. I make a promise to her that I will do my best to look out for them and love them in a way that only a mom-mom can. I know you’ll be bedside them.
