Cora A. Williamson, age 90, of Wilmington, DE passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 12, 2013.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware on July 30, 1923, Cora was the daughter of the late Clarence Biscoe and Lucy Gagnon Biscoe. She worked as a switchboard operator at the former Memorial Hospital in Wilmington for many years before retiring.
Cora was a member of Miriam Circle with the Peniel United Methodist Women. She loved watching old western movies, especially ones with John Wayne. In her leisure time, Cora greatly enjoyed going out to dinner with family and friends and listening to country music. Above all else, she relished time spent with her family, whom she adored.
In addition to her parents, Cora was preceded in death by her husband, Harry O. Williamson; 2 brothers, Clarence and Albert; and 3 sisters, Alice, Margaret, and Lucy. She is survived by her daughter, Gail M. Dierolf and husband Rich Sr. of Wilmington; son, Mark A. Williamson and wife Susan of Newark; brother, Robert Biscoe of Wilmington; and her most beloved grandson, Richie W. Dierolf, Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, October 18, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home of Newark, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where friends may call from 11:30 am until the start of service. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
Flowers are appreciated; however, memorial contributions in Cora’s name may be made to Peniel United Methodist Church, 115 East Market Street, Newport, DE 19804.

    A co-worker today informed me of Cora’s passing & I was so saddened!!! She was such a sweet women! I truly enjoyed being her nurse & I’m so sorry for your loss.
