Born in Orange, VA, on August 18, 1937, Mrs. Bennett was the daughter of the late Charles C. Waugh and Anna Mildred Clay Waugh. She was also a gifted cook and an avid fan of University of Delaware Blue Hen football.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Robert, Charles, and Donna.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Calvert Manor and to the many friends who so kindly assisted Mrs. Bennett during her illness over the years.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 309 Clinton Street, Delaware City, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Delaware City Cemetery, Clinton Street, Delaware City.
