Cristina A. Marra, age 86, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 31, 2016 surrounded by her family.

Born in Piedimonte D’Alife, Italy on September 16, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Margherita (Santoli) Rapa.

Cristina enjoyed cooking and traveling. Family was most important to her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved and adored.

In addition to her parents, Cristina is preceded in death by her husband Orlando Marra; brothers, Antonio Rapa, Luigi Rapa, Franco Rapa; sister, Anna Rapa; grandson, Christopher; great grandchildren, Gabrien and Nadiyah.

She is survived by sons, Ernie Marra, Vincenzo Marra, Tony Marra; daughters, Rosa Lawler and Anna Farren (Kenneth); sister Maria Pia Cardia; grandchildren, Enzo (Christina), Adriano (Genia), Francis Frankie (Jamie), Michelle (Bjorn), Cristina (Andy), Jennifer (Teddy), Amy, Alex, Cristina Krikett, Margherita Maggie (Dane), Kaylee, Gabriel; and 14 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Wednesday evening, February 3, 2016 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home of Newark, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE. A second visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am on Thursday February 4, 2016 where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be held in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.

  • Ti Ammo Nonna. I will always love you for everything you where. The love you had for me as your grandchild will always be remembered. I will miss our afternoon- pastini and watching “Price is right with Bob Barker. Our your funny “Come a knock a my door” saying. Noona there is so much left unsaid but I thank you and forever will know you are dancing with Nonno and Chris, as you watch over your great grandchild in heaven and on earth. Thank you for teaching us a culture that flows through our vanes. Thank you for always loving me the way you did. Forever missed but never gone………………

    I remember the many, many times you talked about your Nonna and how much you loved her, especially the food she made. I’m so sorry for your loss but so glad that you have the wonderful memories of her that you can share with your friends and children. Love to both of you.
