Daniel L. Cheeseman, Sr., age 45, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 8, 2017.

Daniel was born in Wilmington, DE on December 7, 1971, and was the son of William A. Cheeseman, Sr. and Janice L. (Walker) Cheeseman. He made his career as a forklift operator with Grubb Lumber.

An avid sports fan, Daniel looked forward to cheering on the Dallas Cowboys each season and watching WWE. He enjoyed collecting miniature cars and displaying them throughout his home. In his leisure time, Daniel liked bowling, visiting the beach, boating and fishing. He was happiest in the company of his beloved family and especially loved dining out to eat with them. A loving and devoted husband, son, father, brother and friend, Daniel will be very dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, William, Sr. and a sister, Jane M. Todd. Daniel is survived by his wife of 13 years, Tammy (Morris) Cheeseman; mother, Janice L. Cheeseman of Wilmington; children, Yvette M. Cheeseman, Stormi S. Morris and Daniel L. Cheeseman, Jr., all of Wilmington; brother, William A. Cheeseman, Jr. (Karen) of Wilmington; and many extended family members and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday morning, April 15, 2017 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, c/o Christiana Care, P.O. Box 1668, Wilmington, DE 19899.

  • I was just driving down the highway here in Charlotte, NC and for some reason Dan popped up in my mind. Was thinking about how he let me ride with him to Mount Pleasant during the winter. He was kind and we talked a lot about sports. I’m sorry to see he is no longer with us. RIP Dan
