David Charles Tartaglio, Sr.

Born November 12, 1963

David Charles Tartaglio, Sr., age 50, of New Castle, DE passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital.

Dave was born in Wilmington, Delaware on November 12, 1963. He graduated in 1981 from Delcastle High School. Dave made his career as an ironworker with Summitt Steel, a job he greatly loved.

An avid Phillies fan and die hard season ticket holder for the Eagles, he was an ardent supporter of both teams and enjoyed Nascar Sundays, too. Dave spent many years volunteering his time as an assistant coach with the Suburban Little League, where his son was a player. He was a passionate cook, who took great joy in creating delicious meals for his friends and family. Dave took great pride in caring for his yard and relished the time he spent there. Above all else, he will be remembered as an exceptionally kind man with a heart of gold who was willing to help anyone in need, at any time. Dave’s family, including his beloved fur babies, was his greatest love, and he will be dearly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank M. Tartaglio, Sr., brother, Frank M. Tartaglio, Jr., step-brother, James M. Gall, and father-in-law, William Cecconi. Dave is survived by his wife, Jan M. Cecconi Tartaglio; mother, Marian Donovan Gall and step-father, Richard Gall; son, David C. Tartaglio, Jr.; brother, Thomas A. Tartaglio; step-brother, Richard T. Gall (Colleen); mother-in-law, Janie Cecconi; a very special sister-in-law, Donna M. Tartaglio; brothers-in-law, William Cecconi (Robin) and Don Cecconi (GiGi); nieces and nephews, Nadia, Brenda, Mandy, Billy, Donny, Patrick, Melissa, Christopher, and K-Lee Blevins, to whom he was a very special uncle and who truly adored him; and many cousins.

Family and friends may call from 6 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday evening, March 4, 2014 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
