David Joseph Marino
Mr. David Joseph Marino, age 63, of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2011.
Born in Hazleton, PA, on February 29, 1948, David was a graduate of Salesianum High School and later received his bachelors degree in business from the University of Baltimore. He would go on to make his career as a professional building contractor, owning and operating his own firm, Two Davids Home Improvement. His excellent work ethic and reputation for outstanding quality earned him many devoted clients over his 38-year career.
A deeply spiritual person and devout Catholic, David was a longtime member of Holy Family parish. He also joined faithfully in Eucharistic adoration each Sunday at St. Anns parish for many years. Well known throughout his life for his kind and generous nature, David genuinely delighted in helping anyone in need.
David is survived by his daughter, Karina Hoeppner of Pueblo, CO; mother, Mary Goffa Marino of New Castle; siblings, Michael J. Marino (Nancy) of Newark, Monica Brittingham (R.B.) of Georgetown, Bill Marino (Jane) of Wilmington, Lisa Cordeiro (Rich) of Albuquerque, NM, Eugene Marino (Sharon) of Center Valley, PA, Mary Wharton (Larry) of Lincoln University, PA, and Andrea Kokoszko (Joe) of Bear; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael A. Marino, and a sister, Anita Marino.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 am on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Holy Family R.C. Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark, where visitation will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of David may be made to Holy Family R.C. Church, 15 Gender Road, Newark, DE 19713.
