Deborah Catherine Moroney

Deborah Catherine Moroney, age 63, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015.
Born in Pittston, PA on November 8, 1952, Deborah was a daughter of William Martin and Emma (Marsh) Martin.She graduated with the class of 1970 at William Penn High School. Deborah made her career as a legal secretary for the State of Delaware Department of Justice, retiring after 33 years of dedicated service in 2012.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed feeding and watching the birds when they came to visit the feeders in her backyard, as well as tending to her vegetable garden, and cooking. Deborah mostly loved spending time with her beloved family and three cats.
Preceded in death by her father, she is survived by daughter, Amy E. Woitko (Paul); mother, Emma Martin; sister, Linda Fleetwood (Al) all of New Castle; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. Dupont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Deborah’s name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.

I am so sad to hear about Debbie’s passing. I worked with Debbie at the DOJ about 13 years ago for 9 years. The last two years that I worked there we worked together in the same unit and had connecting cubicles. She and I be me very close. She was such a sweet and caring person! Amy she spoke so much of you all the time! Showing pictures of you and talking about all that you were up to in life. She was so proud of you! I know you will miss her dearly and I’m so sorry for your loss! I will keep Debbie, you and your family in my prayers.
