Born September 20, 1926

Dennis E. Marshallsea, age 87, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2014.

Born in Bristol, England on September 20, 1926, Mr. Marshallsea was a son of the late William E. Marshallsea and Eva Hicks Marshallsea. He bravely served with HMS during WWII and in 1955 moved with his family to the United States. A painter by trade, Mr. Marshallsea was employed with Local Union #100, retiring in 1992 after many years of dedicated service.

An avid golfer, he enjoyed hitting the links whenever he could. He loved spending time outdoors, especially in his garden. Mr. Marshallsea relished traveling to England to visit family and friends. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather who adored spending time with his beloved family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, David, sister, Mary Brand and 19 half siblings. He is survived by his wife, Beryl Templar Marshallsea; daughter, Denise E. Marshallsea of Newark; son, James M. Marshallsea (Jacquelyn) of Newark; sister, Eva Tebbit of Devon, England; grandsons, James M. Marshallsea, Jr. and Derek E. Marshallsea; step granddaughter, Shannon E. Bennett; and step great granddaughter, Elise Bennett.

A memorial service will be held at 7 pm on Wednesday evening, September 3, 2014, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE. Interment will be held privately.
