Dolorez V.L. Ingraham
Mrs. Dolorez V.L. Ingraham, of Middletown, DE, died on Friday, January 7, 2011, at Christiana Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends.
A native Delawarean, Mrs. Ingraham was born in Wilmington on June 16, 1931, daughter of the late Edward S. Diamond and Ethel Comerford Diamond. She began her career as an operator with the former Diamond State Telephone Company in Wilmington and later accepted a position as an administrative assistant for the late Senator Caleb Boggs.
Mrs. Ingraham was a gifted homemaker throughout her life and, in her later years, was also a very active member and volunteer at the M.O.T. Senior Center, where she served on the advisory board.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James J. Murray, in 1975, her second husband, Frank B. Ingraham, Sr., in 2005, and by a brother, Henri Bud Diamond. She is survived by her children, Edward W. Murray of Middletown, Johna-Lee D. Ingraham and Frank B. Ingraham, Jr. of Newark, and Jean N. Glacken (Harry Jr.) of Smyrna; brother, Richard S. Diamond (Gennie) of Salem, NJ; sister-in-law, Bernice McGalliard of Middletown; grandchildren, Jamie M. Holmes (fianc, Douglas A. Gilley, Jr.), Laura J. Glacken, and Trevor I. Glacken; great grandchildren, Jake and Alex Holmes; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends, including her friends from the M.O.T. Senior Center.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 11 am on Tuesday, January 18th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:15 pm at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 371 E. Main Street, Middletown. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Ingraham may be made to the Jean Birch M.O.T. Senior Center, 300 S. Scott Street, Middletown, DE 19709.
