My condolences at this most difficult time. My prayers are with you and your family.

  • I was so sorry to hear of Aunt Doris passing, but I know that she is in a better place. She had long said that she awaited her reunion with Uncle Roger with great joy! She had a long and productive life and would not wish anyone to mourn her passing. She once told me, “When I pass away, sound a horn and rejoice! Wear bright colors! I know I will finally be reunited with your Uncle Roger, the only man I have ever loved! Do you know I still keep his slippers under my bed? Some people would say that is silly, but I hold on to them in remembrance and looking forward to being reunited one day when the time comes.” Aunt Doris, your time has come and I am glad that you are reunited with Uncle Roger. I am sorry I was unable to attend your funeral, but I trust you understand. I will honor you at Chimayo in my own way and I will pray most especially for those you left behind. I know that you loved your children most of all and held out this long most especially for them. I will wear bright colors and rejoice when I light a candle for you and your family at Chimayo! Give Padre Roca my love! (I will learn to deal with the new Padre; he is no Padre Roca, but he is okay). You will be missed!

  • May you rest in peace my dear friend and neighbor. I will never forget you. Like you with Rogers slippers
under your bed, I still have my husbands neckties in the wardrobe.
My prayers are with your family, know they will miss you. God Bless.
