Dorothy Chandeh Gbaye

Dorothy Chandeh Gbaye, age 53, of New Castle, DE passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2014, while surrounded by her family.

Born in Zai Town, Liberia on December 17, 1960, Dorothy was a daughter of James B. Farley and Cecelia G. Kuly. She was employed as a certified nursing assistant at the Emily P. Bissel Hospital, where she had worked for the past 7 years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, James. She is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, James Quayee Gbaye; mother, Cecelia; children, Jamesetta Gbaye, Bonty Gbaye, Chanty Gbaye, and Ludan Gbaye; siblings, Panthooh M. Doe, Jenkins Farley, Famata Farley, Wilfred Farley, Ziko Farley, Ricks Garwo, Jefferson Farley, Patricia Farley, May Farley, and Victor Gaye; and granddaughter, Natalie Gachoka.

A wake keeping will be held from 8 pm until 12 AM, Friday evening, February 28, 2014 at the Rose Hill Community Center, 19 Lambson Lane, New Castle, DE. A visitation will be held from 8 am until 9:45 am on Saturday morning, March 1, 2014 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 500 W. Chestnut Hill Road, Newark, DE 19713, where a funeral service will follow at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
