Dorothy P. Anderson, age 54, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 4, 2016.

Born in Reading, PA on November 7, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Dorothy (Ritter) Keim. Dorothy graduated from Kutztown Senior High School in 1979. She retired from the Delaware Department of Corrections as a corrections officer after many years of service. She enjoyed studying forensic science, watching true crime shows, reading, and dancing. Most importantly, Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, and dear friend to many.

She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Anderson, Jr.; sons, Robert John Anderson III and Joseph Hunter Anderson; siblings, Theresa Hackley, Anne Austin,  MaryAnne Keim, and Robert Russell Keim; and nephews, Kevin Henry Forry and Johnathon Estheimer.

Funeral services and interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society, Delaware Chapter, 200 Continental Dr., Suite 115, Newark, DE 19713.

  • I spent 32 years searching for you, Being able to spend the last 21 years with you were the best years of my life. I could have never asked for a better wife or a better mother to our children, I will love you always. I will miss your kisses, your smile and your love. Knowing your pain is gone and you are at peace now are my only solace.

  • Rest in heaven. You are missed loved and remembered. Your stories of peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches, and others will be passed on. Love you.

  • My heartfelt condolences to the Anderson family. I did not know Dorothy personally but I understand how hard a time like this can be. I am sorry for your loss. May our Heavenly Father, who is the God of all comfort, give you the strength and comfort that you need (2 Corinthians 1:3). Our Heavenly Father understands your pain because he too has experienced the death of his beloved Son, Jesus Christ. Just as God resurrected his Son, he yearns to resurrect our loved ones as well (Job 14:14,15). I hope these words give you the comfort and peace you need during this difficult time.
