Earl Wallace, Sr.

Earl Wallace, Sr., age 85, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017.

Born in Clayton, DE on October 25, 1931, Earl was a son of the late Walter and Bessie (Morris) Wallace. He made his career with the former Curtis Paper Mill, retiring after many years of dedicated employment.

Earl loved spending time outdoors tending to his vegetable and flower gardens and took great pride in caring for his home. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Parker; 2 brothers; and 5 sisters. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley (Schmittinger) Wallace; children, Earl Wallace, Jr. (Twyla), Jeffrey Wallace (Kathy), and Diane Parke (Richard); stepchildren, Patty Bower (Norman), Eddie Thompson, Jimmy Thompson (Lisa), Paula Cunningham (Richard), and Jerry Thompson (Tamie); brother, Leonard Wallace; sisters, Dorothy Moore and Eva Rein; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Thursday morning, September 21, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Earl’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

I am so sad n I miss you n love you more than anything…A part of me is gone now…Thank you for being there perfect example of what n who a man should be n thank you for loving me unconditionally n taking care of my babies your great grandchildren…They love you so much.   • Earl loved ice cream and I do too. Shirley and us would enjoy our 8:00 p.m. bowl of ice cream when I came in town and stayed at their house for a few days.
