Edith M. Boyle

Edith M. Boyle, age 75, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, surrounded by her family and friends.

Born in Wilmington, DE on July 30, 1940, Edie was a daughter of the late Francis and Elsie Riley. She was a member of the graduating class of 1958 from P.S. duPont High School and later worked at a mushroom cannery for many years. She loved to go shopping and spend time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Edie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Boyle, Jr., son, Thomas J. Boyle III, son in law, Harry K. Johnson and nephew, Michael Dean Johnson. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Johnson (Spud Burns); sister and brother in law, Barbara and Maurice Johnson; grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson, Sr., Stephanie Johnson, Jennifer Rife and Thomas J. Boyle IV; great grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson, Jr. and Anthony Johnson; niece, Michele Temple; and her faithful canine companion, Winston.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday morning, April 13, 2016, at the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a visitation will be held from 10 am until 11 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.
