Edward E. Wilfong, age 60, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2016.

A native Delawarean, Edward was born in Wilmington on October 8, 1955, and was the son of the late George T. Wilfong, Sr. and Margaret E. “Peggy” (Pike) Wilfong. He was a graduate of William Penn High School. Edward made his career as a pipe fitter with UA Local 74 “ Newark, retiring after many years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha E. (Unruh) Wilfong and his brother, George Wilfong, Jr. Edward is survived by his daughter, Lacy A. Wilfong of New Castle; and stepson, Russell Zern, Jr of Clayton, DE.

A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday morning, July 12, 2016, in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.

  • I am so sorry for the loss of Edward, there is little I can do or say to ease your pain and suffering. The grief that his death has caused is indescribable. Som scripture I have found comforting John 5:28, Revelation 21:3 & 4, they give us the hope that our loved ones will be resurrected to life in a paradise earth. May the fond memories of Edward comfort you and may God grant you the abilityntomendure.

  • I am so sorry to hear about Ed. I worked with Ed for a lot of years and was a very good friend of his and his brother George and his dad. I will miss the Fong he was a brother in life and as a Union member in LU 80. We always had a good time working together and I will miss him.

  • Rest in peace Ed. I still have many fond memories when I was younger and we were the Best Man and Maid of Honor at my brother’s wedding. So much fun. I was so sorry to hear we had lost another friend.
