Edward Leslie Peterman
Born January 12, 1949
Edward Leslie Peterman, age 66, of Newark, DE, went to join the Lord’s band on March 4, 2015.
Born in Warren, OH on January 12, 1949, Ed grew up in Tucson, AZ, graduating from Tucson High School in 1967. After graduation he made his way to Virginia, picking up that beloved twang before settling in Delaware. Ed was a jack of all trades throughout his career; working as a mechanic, big rig driver, warehouse supervisor, press operator, and medical gas deliverer.
He was a musician who enjoyed travel, photography, and hiking; and an avid reader who loved nature. He was a man of high moral fiber, never wanting to argue and never failing to crack a joke. Ed was an amazing partner to his wife of 33 years, and a perfect role model for his children. Ed would lighten any room he walked into and brought us laughter. Our hearts ache for our husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, colleague and friend who will be deeply missed.
Ed is predeceased by his parents Raymond and Grace, and his sister Susan Insalaco. He is survived by his wife Tracy and son Travis of Newark; daughter Nadine Trotter and grandson Wyatt Trotter of Wilmington; daughter Leslie and sister Nancy Orth of Tucson, AZ; brother and sister-in-law Larry and Nancy of Klamath Falls, OR; and by numerous other loving relatives and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:30 pm until 2 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2015, with a memorial service at 2 pm at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE. Reception to follow.

Tracey, we were heartbroken to learn of Eddie’s passing. Thank you for letting us know. We have so many fond memories of the fun times we shared. We were talking about y’all last week as we were going through old pictures. We found one of Eddie & Larry sitting in the floor playing their guitars. Larry still has the music album Eddie made for him. We were singing Charlie and the MTA in the car one day. We remember the song at y’all’s wedding when nerves almost got the best of the trio. You and Travis will be in our thoughts and prayers as you face the loss of your love. May the Lord give you grace & strength for tomorrow.

It has been 5 years now working with Ed. I loved seeing him come in every morning after a long night shift. He would walk in with a silly smile and joyfull greeting. His sense of humor was a real laugh that made your day even better or realize that your bad day wasnt so rough. He was a smart man that could carry an interesting conversation about art, work, family, … I thought he was a romantic man especially when he took his wife on a 3 wk vacation a couple years back. He loved to golf and tell stories of taking his father, bonding on the green. Ed enjoyed his stops at Taco Bell on his way home from work for a quick bite. I could always count that Ed’s work paperwork was in order and correct. He would always tell stories of his son being an instructor in the marching band. It would only be for a half hour or so a day that he would pass by my office. But I am glad to have had that time with him. Every day is a gift. I am reminded to count my blessings. To treat people and the moment with care. Rest In Peace~
