Edward S. Machulski, Jr., age 74, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2015.

Edward was born in Newark, DE, on January 19, 1941, and was the son of Edward S. Machulski, Sr. and Stella (Borowka) Machulski. A lifelong resident of Newark, he attended Newark High School where he was a member of the football team and known fondly as Masher by his teammates. Edward worked as a first class lineman for the City of Newark, retiring after 36 years of dedicated service.

He was a longtime member of VFW Post #475 in Newark. An avid outdoorsman, Edward enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and duck and goose hunting. He was a devoted and loving family man who adored spending time with his loved ones and will be dearly missed by all.

Edward was preceded in death by his father, Edward, Sr. and his beloved wife, Margaret L. (Grose) Machulski. He is survived by his mother, Stella Machulski; children, Benny R. Wade of Midland, NC, Sheila L. Wade of Newark, DE and Glenn D. Wade of Philadelphia, PA; 4 grandchildren, Stephanie Miller (Chris) of Lewes, DE, Jennie Hicks (Robert) of Midland, NC, Jason Wade of Charlotte, NC and Kelly Lynton (Scott) of Charlotte, NC; and 5 great grandchildren, Brittyn, Christian, Emma, Skyler and Dominic.

Services and interment will be held privately.

  • We are very sorry for your loss . I believe i am a second cousin to Edward . I remember when I was young that he lived in Newark and played football at Newark High and my relatives said his nickname was Bushel because of his size. I believe I did see him one time when i was very young. I will say a prayer for him . Thomas A Machulski
