An avid sports fan, Mrs. Murphy was a passionate supporter of the Penn State Football team and the Philadelphia Phillies. 4 Condolences for Eleanor R. (Robb) Murphy

  • My thoughts and prayers to Ellie’s family! Ellie was my Avon lady for many, many years and I would stop on my way home from work at her house to get my purchase or a new book. She was always so incredibly kind and sweet to me! I met all her furry friends over the years and just enjoyed catching up with whatever was going on with her. She truly had become a friend, she just had a special way of making people feel good with her wonderful smile. I was so saddened to hear of her passing, she was a very, very, special lady and will be greatly missed by many!

  • Ellie and I met while selling Avon, which as you know she had been doing for years. It was actually in 1978 that we met, and when I stopped selling Avon she became my representative. Ellie always enjoyed my dogs as if they were part of her family, at one time I had five of them. She just loved everyone and I think we all loved her. I am very saddened that she has passed, I missed her when she stopped selling Avon. All who knew her loved her.

  • Mrs. Murphy was one of my “rocks” growing up. She was always there, a constant protector (although I didn’t know it at the time). She was a great friend to my entire family….we missed her terribly when she moved from Chaucer Drive, although the Avon seemed to be a good excuse to “stay in touch” with my mother. Jane and Susan, it is with a heavy heart that I tell you that we don’t realize what we have until it is gone. I will miss seeing her, seeing David……just being “there” was comforting. I am so sorry for your loss, and I want you to know I share your loss. I have lost another rock.

  • Ellie was more than a friend she attended family weddings, funerals, and baby showers. We met at Little League, David was the bat boy on my son Spencer’s ball team. We had so many hours of laughter when she brought my Avon order. I have the dearest and fondest memories of her. I truly missed her after she retired. You were very blessed to have her in your life, I know I was. God bless you all in this difficult time.
