Elizabeth G. Miller

Born November 7, 1931

Elizabeth G. Miller, age 82, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully with family present on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Foulk Manor North, where she resided.

Elizabeth was born in New Brunswick, NJ on November 7, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Hans Gartmann and Selma Stoffel Gartmann. She was a 1953 graduate of Bates College in Lewiston, ME, where she served as the choir’s organist.

From a young age, she possessed an exceptional ear and love for music. Elizabeth was a longtime member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Newark, where she gave of her time and talents as the church’s pianist. She also was a member of the 2×4 square dance club. She adored spending time at the family home on the Jersey Shore, where she enjoyed sailing and relaxing on the beach.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Herron W. Miller, Jr., her second husband, John Nolan and her brother, R. John Gartmann. Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Herron W. Miller III (Sandy) of Newark, John Miller of Wilmington and Edward Miller (Christine) of Higganum, CT; granddaughter, Magdalen Miller; step grandchildren, Jason and Angela Roycht; step great grandchildren, Joey and Michael Roycht; and niece, Tracy Gartmann.

A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on, Saturday, July 5, 2014, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a visitation will be held from 11 am until 12 Noon. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Newark, 48 West Park Place, Newark, Delaware 19711.
