Elizabeth Victoria Steltz, age 96, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.
Born in Port Carbon, PA, on April 30, 1921, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Raymond L. and Edna Fyetta (Noecker) May. She was a talented homemaker who took great pride in caring for her home and family.
A woman of strong faith, Elizabeth was a longtime, dedicated member of the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newark. She adored spending time with her loved ones and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond May; and a grandson. She is survived by her husband of over 76 years, Milton James Steltz, Sr.; children, Milton J. Steltz, Jr. (Maxine), Elizabeth Dempsey (Robert), and Frederick Steltz; 9 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Friday morning, June 9, 2017, at the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 135 S. Old Baltimore Pike, Newark, DE 19702, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will be held privately in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elizabeth’s memory may be made to the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, at the address listed above.
