7 Condolences for Ely Saul Urdaneta Maza

  • Love you, Ely! Miss you terribly! Thank you for your service to our country. You are a great man! See you in Dixie heaven! Hugs.

  • We’re all going to miss Eli and our hearts are heavy. Many of us will wonder what could have been from a young man with a good heart whose smile and laughter echoes still. As I searched for the words to share to best express how we felt, I returned again and again to a famous Mary Elizabeth Frye poem that I’ll share. Partly also since Ms. Frye represented the common person without formal literary education who was somehow able to express feelings and hope so well for the rest of us. I hope we might all find comfort in her words in our own ways. We will miss you Eli but we’ll remember you always.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave bereft
I am not there. I have not left.

  • Rest In Peace brother. It was an honor to serve with you. Everyone will miss you.

  • Michael, me and my brother were very good friends before Ely’s passing, he didn’t talk about his time in the marine corps much and I can’t find any information about him anywhere. Me and my brother Robert really want to know more about his time in the military. If you could please contact me by email it would be really appreciated.
