Estelle Mae Litewski
Mrs. Estelle Mae Litewski, age 88, of Middletown, DE, formerly of Dover and Felton, DE, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012.
Born in Akron, OH, on July 3, 1923, Mrs. Litewski was the daughter of the late Spencer L. McNeil and Thurma York McNeil. She was a dedicated homemaker throughout her life and had also worked as a secretary and receptionist for Dr. Campbell in Smyrna, DE, for 10 years.
A talented dollmaker and artist, Mrs. Litewski maintained a beautiful and extensive collection of delicately handcrafted porcelain dolls. In her leisure hours, she greatly enjoyed vacationing at the beach, particularly in Delaware. Most of all, she delighted in spending time with good friends and her beloved children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard B. Litewski, her son, Holt James Hensley, and sisters, Inez Grubb, Catherine Morton, and Lorraine Valentine. She is survived by her daughter, E. Jane Stewart (James) of Middletown, DE; siblings, Raymond McNeil (Liz) of Winston-Salem, NC, James McNeil (Susan) of Sun City, AZ, Maxine Anderson (Dallas) of Winston-Salem, NC, and Wilma Merritt of Rural Hall, NC; daughter-in-law, Janie Hensley of Kennewick, WA; 5 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where visitation will begin at 1 pm. A committal service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at Parklawn Memorial Gardens, 2730 Peters Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC.
