  • Dear Yvonne and family,

Eli and I are both so saddened to learn of Aunt Marie’s passing. I wish I could be with you all in person to pass along my heartfelt condolences and give you a hug to help strengthen you during this time.

I have so many delightful memories of Aunt Marie, most of them when all of us cousins were so much younger. I remember when we would come with my mom and dad to visit and stay overnight downstairs in the room that had black windows and stars that seemed to always twinkle. Aunt Marie would always let me play with the beautiful doll that she kept on her bed. I thought it was the most beautiful doll ever and I was always so careful and so happy to play with her. Our parents would always stay up late playing cards (canasta, I believe) or sit out in the garage/porch area enjoying each other’s company. And, of course, we would always enjoy delicious food on these visits. I recall a time when Aunt Marie cooked a huge pot of crabs on her stove. I had ever seen live crabs being cooked before. I remember the crabs putting up such a fight and some of them even escaping having to be chased down by Aunt Marie and anyone else who would have been brave enough! Not by me at that young age.

I have many fond memories that I will always cherish and keep close in my heart. I am so happy we all got together for our family reunion not too long ago and that Aunt Marie got to meet Eli on a separate visit! You are always welcome to visit us down south. Eli will prepare one of his delicious meals as we continue to create more special memories.

Our deepest thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire family during this difficult time.

    Love,
    Korrine & Eli Biggers (Beers)

  • Dear Marie,

I am going to miss your sweet and caring way. You had such a big heart and you would always do your best to help anyone who needed it. I am going to miss our shopping trips to Lancaster and going to dinner and sharing wine and some good laughs. It will never be the same without you. Heaven has received another angel.

    Love always,
    Your 2nd daughter

  • I really don’t know where to begin. Words can never fully justify my feelings. This is a very confusing time. To me, she was Mom mom. She was my grandmother, caretaker, mentor, and one my first best friends in all the world. At a time, she was there for all of my best childhood moments; All of my birthdays, every Christmas and Easter, and was there to see me earn my High School diploma. With her presence in my life, I was aided in learning responsibility, I was given my first lawn cutting jobs, and was I was helped in paving my way to becoming a successful adult.

Some of my best memories are that of time spent with her. Everything from drinking chocolate milk at her dinner table, countless sleep overs, to watching Air Wolf and Gilligan’s Island on the swing in the finished garage. I remember raking her leaves, a living room floor full of G.I. Joe action figures, and new sneakers and coats at the beginning of every school year. I will certainly never forget who bought my first television set and digging through the baskets of shelled nuts over the Christmas holiday. Her positive aura extended to neighbors all over to which helped me develop some of my own friendships, with Hunter for example.

She was my favorite grandmother and she will be missed. Even though I am remote, I join the rest of my family to mourn for the loss of this extraordinary person. I wanted to also pass along she was survived by two additional great grandchildren, Alyssia Lilimarie Beers and Vincent Alexander Beers. To Aunt Yvonne, Uncle Jan, and Josh: I love you all and hope you will accept my deepest apologies and condolences.

  • Yvonne and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I know your mom will be missed by many. We were all blessed to have her with us all these years. Find comfort in your memories. Love, Margy

  • Dear Yvonne and family,

So very sorry for you loss. I have not seen Mrs. Beers since the early sixties but I remember her as a very caring person which was difficult dealing with 13 and 14 year old kids. She allowed us to come into her home and treated everyone with respect. She even listened to our music as I remember.

You are all in our thoughts and we wish you only the best.

  • The Beers family,

We are very sorry to hear of your loss. It was a pleasure growing up with the Beers family a few doors down. Know that your mother will surely be missed. God be with you at this time and always.

  • For the last 10 years, I have had the privilege and honor of calling you Grandma. Right from the first meeting, you accepted me into your family and have treated me as a granddaughter. You showed your caring and nurturing side in everything you did. You had such spunk and determination and always so quick with a smile and a hug & kiss.

I am so glad that my boys got the time they did with their great grandmother. No matter how much I would complain about them being spoiled, I would have never traded it for the world. The memories they will have and cherish are worth more any amount of money could ever buy, and for that I will be forever grateful. I am so glad that you and I got to bond and share a love of baking, even if my chicken and dumplings will never hold up to yours 🙂 I hope that I can do you proud with cheesecake instead! I can’t thank you enough for role you played in Josh’s upbringing, he cherished the times he spent with you. I wish I could have gotten up and said all this at your funeral, but my heart was still too raw from losing you.

The day of your funeral, while we were sitting in the cemetery chapel, the wind was whipping the flags on the graves, they were all waving wildly about. The sky was such a bright and beautiful blue with beautiful white fluffy clouds. To me, that was everyone there welcoming you the way they would if they had known you in life…..a grand round of applause for such a charismatic, outgoing, fun loving, and strong woman.

Look down on us from time to time. Keep an eye on my rowdy boys, you are their guardian angel now. Every time a snowflake or a raindrop lands on our noses, I will know that it is really kisses from heaven.

We love you and will miss you!!!
