Floyd Bennett Morris, Jr., age 64, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 10, 2015.

A native Delawarean, Floyd was born in Wilmington on January 23, 1951, and was a son of the late Floyd Bennett Morris, Sr. and Thelma (Russell) Morris. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Floyd made his career with the Mary Campbell Center where he worked in facility maintenance, dedicating over 20 years of service.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching NASCAR. Floyd adored his family, especially his grandchildren and was happiest when he was spending time with them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Paula C. Morris; and his daughter, Dawn Reeder. He is survived by his son, James Lewis, Jr. (Jennifer); brothers, Gary A. Morris, C. Ben Morris, Russell H. Morris and Christopher H. Morris; sister, Joyce A. Jennings; and 5 grandchildren, James Lewis III, Nicholas Lewis, David Lewis, Christiana Lewis and Kaitlin Reeder.

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Friday afternoon, September 25, 2015, at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Floyd’s name may be made to the Mary Campbell Center, 4641 Weldin Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803.
