Frances E. (Kleintop) Smith, age 97, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2017.

Born in Allentown, PA on March 25, 1920, Frances was the daughter of the late Albertus and Amelia (Gheris) Kleintop. In addition to raising her family, she worked for 25 years as a jewelry salesperson for Sarah Coventry, and was fondly known as The Jewelry Lady due to her longstanding history with the company.

In her earlier years, Frances enjoyed painting and playing Bingo with friends. At one time, she was active in her church community, where she played the piano and sang in the choir. Above all else, Frances will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and stepmother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald F. Smith; sister, Marguerite L. Simpson; and brother, Sgt. Albertus L. Kleintop, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Elanor F. Martin of Wilmington and Amelia V. Smith of Lewes; sons, Robert H. Danner (Karen) of Allentown, PA and Roger C. Smith of York County, PA; stepsons, Donald F. Smith, Jr. and Martin C. Smith; stepdaughter, Cynthia E. Smith; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Services and interment will be held privately.
